Shed Defender on ABC’s Shark Tank — Season 10 Pitch

April 17, 2023Shed Defender

In Season 10 of ABC’s Shark Tank, Tyson and Myles Walters walked into the Tank with Harley — Tyson’s Saint Bernard — wearing the original Shed Defender onesie. They asked for $250,000 for 10% of their company.

What followed was one of the more competitive bidding moments of the season. Kevin O’Leary and Robert Herjavec both offered deals before Lori Greiner jumped in, leading all three Sharks to compete for the investment. The brothers ultimately made a deal on-air with Lori for $250,000 for 25% equity.

During the pitch, the founders demonstrated the product’s core value: dog hair contained inside the suit, not on your furniture or clothes. The Sharks were able to hold and examine the onesie firsthand, and the business numbers impressed — $1.2 million in sales over 18 months, at roughly 80% blended margins.

The Shark Tank appearance put Shed Defender on the national map and accelerated the brand’s growth into major retail including Walmart, Target, Chewy, and PetSmart. The Shed Defender is now the #1 recovery suit for dogs in the US, with products sold in vet clinics, pet stores, and online worldwide.
