Long Version

The Shed Defender will not change the character or general shedding of your dog. It will trap loose hair between your dog and the Shed Defender. The trapping design of Shed Defender makes it imperative that you remove the Shed Defender as soon as reasonable after any stressful situation or after a period of eight (8) hours. The trapped hair should not be allowed to linger between your dog and the Shed Defender for a pro-longed period of time. The trapped hair may cause skin irritation, binding of the garment, skin infections or other similar discomfort for your dog. While this garment provides temporary relief from the shedding symptoms, it does not stop shedding. Regular care and grooming of your animal is required daily and the Shed Defender should never be worn for more than eight (8) consecutive hours.

Upon removal of the Shed Defender, you should brush, groom, inspect your dog, and the Shed Defender should be laundered and inspected for any damage. Do not use the Shed Defender if it is damaged.

The Shed Defender requires adult supervision. Use of the Shed Defender is intended for limited duration and regular inspection for cleanliness, friction, binding, chaffing, trip hazards or choking is required. Finding the correct fit for the Shed Defender is of the utmost importance to protect your dog’s safety. A garment too big may cause a tripping or choking hazard, a garment too small may create friction or skin irritation. Good sense and supervision is required for the use of this product. Use of the Shed Defender for medical reasons, such as post surgery protection of an incision or anxiety compression should be approved by your veterinarian. Misuse of the product may result in hot spots, chaffing, skin irritation, inflammation or infection. Never allow continued use of a dirty garment on your dog. If your dog is an aggressive or nervous chewer, this product is not recommended.

The Shed Defender was designed for dogs. If you intend to use Shed Defender for another animal please consult with your veterinarian for your specific use.

The Shed Defender is made with fabric that provides protection from most UVA and UVB rays and use of the product in the sun should be monitored closely to prevent overheating of your dog. All dogs are at risk of overheating from prolonged sun exposure, enclosed spaces with little ventilation such as a vehicle on a warm or sunny day. The Shed Defender will not protect your dog from overheating.

If you notice unusual behavior from your dog while using the Shed Defender, remove the garment immediately and seek veterinary attention for any symptoms that do not cease upon removal of the Shed Defender. Unusual behavior may include, without limitation, walking backward, high stepping, sneezing, wheezing, coughing, itching, chewing, incontinence, panting, or non-responsiveness. It is important that if your use of the Shed Defender for an excessive period of time results in a skin irritation for your dog, you do not mislead your veterinarian. You must disclose the circumstances correctly to your Veterinarian for proper treatment and care of your animal.
