Summer is coming and for our June Paw it Forward partner we chose Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR), a Ft. Lauderdale-based no-kill animal shelter that needs to keep it’s lights and AC on as the weather heats up! Equipped with free-roaming cat rooms, air conditioned dog kennels, a play yard, and a vet clinic, APR provides comprehensive care for 150 cats and 30 dogs at it’s adoption center. As a donor and grant funded non-profit, APR needs all the help it can get so we wanted to share the good work they’ve been doing and provide them with a donation.

The everyday upkeep of a shelter like APR requires a vast amount of resources and manpower. Everyday APR uses 120 lbs. of pine litter, 100 cans of cat good and 12 cans of dog food. Every pet adopted is examined by APR’s vet and vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, tested for common illnesses and given flea/tick preventatives. It’s a process! That’s why we want to encourage our community to join us in donating to APR so that they can continue to provide a loving and comfortable safe haven for cats and dogs in the Ft. Lauderdale area that are in search of their forever home.
